Why you should know this
The right vocabulary helps you read a transfer status without guessing.
The ten terms
1. Blockchain: an ordered record maintained under network rules.
2. Block: a batch of accepted records.
3. Node: software participating in network communication or validation.
4. Miner: a proof-of-work participant proposing blocks through computation.
5. Validator: a participant in some consensus systems that proposes or attests to blocks.
6. Transaction: an instruction to change the network state.
7. Signature: cryptographic proof that a key authorized an instruction.
8. Network fee: payment for transaction processing or computation.
9. Confirmation: evidence that a transaction entered accepted history.
10. Finality: confidence or protocol condition that history will not reverse.
Similar words are not interchangeable
A node is not automatically a miner or validator. A submitted transaction is not yet confirmed. One confirmation may not satisfy every receiving service.
Always interpret a status under the specific network and provider rules.
A familiar example
Miguel’s wallet says sent, an explorer says confirmed and an exchange says pending. Each label refers to a different stage and system.
One limit to remember
Technical status does not prove the recipient is correct or the transaction was wise. It only describes processing.
