Coins.ph and Skyro Collaborates for Faster QR Ph Payments, Loan Disbursements

From QR payments to instant loan payouts, Coins.ph and Skyro are working to make digital finance faster, simpler, and more accessible to Filipinos. The alliance between the two aims to provide consumers and merchants with access to a network of more than 10,000 partner stores and more than 4,000 offline and online merchant partners nationwide.

Cashless is the Trend

Digital payments are becoming an increasingly important part of everyday life in the Philippines, with consumers and businesses looking for faster and more convenient ways to send, receive, and spend money.

To support this uptrend, digital wallet provider Coins.ph and consumer finance fintech Skyro have formed a new partnership aimed at expanding QR Ph payments and improving digital disbursement services nationwide.

The agreement was formalized during the ASEAN Tech Summit at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Pasay City.

Coins.ph Chief Executive Officer Wei Zhou and Global Marketing Director Amira Alawi represented Coins.ph, while Skyro was represented by co-founders and co-chief executives Arsen Liametov and Nasim Aliev, together with President Anthony Co.

The partnership will cover QR Ph Scan-to-Pay, QR Ph payment acceptance, and digital disbursement services.

Through combination of these capabilities together, the companies aim to provide consumers, merchants, and business partners with safer, faster, and more flexible ways to manage transactions.

To consumers, the development could mean easier payments at participating stores. For Skyro borrowers, it could support faster access to loan proceeds. Meanwhile, merchants can benefit from more streamlined settlements and payout processes.

QR Ph Expands Payment Options for Consumers

A major focus of the partnership is the expansion of QR Ph payment acceptance across Skyro’s extensive retail and merchant network.

QR Ph, the Philippines’ national QR code standard, allows customers to make digital payments using participating banks and electronic wallets through an interoperable system. This means consumers can use compatible payment applications without being restricted to a single wallet or financial provider.

Through the partnership, consumers will gain access to interoperable payments across Skyro’s network of more than 10,000 partner stores and more than 4,000 offline and online merchant partners nationwide.

This expansion can make digital payments more practical for everyday purchases. Customers can have greater flexibility in choosing which participating digital wallet or banking application they want to use, while merchants can accommodate customers across different payment platforms.

For businesses, wider QR Ph acceptance can also reduce the need to manage several separate payment systems. A more connected payment environment can make transactions easier to process while supporting the country’s broader shift away from cash.

Coins.ph CEO Wei Zhou highlighted the importance of extending digital payment infrastructure to more users.

“Partnering with Skyro allows us to expand the reach of our robust financial infrastructure and drive real, everyday utility for millions of users,” said Zhou. “Through our joint work in QR Ph acceptance and disbursements, we are making interoperable digital payments faster, safer and far more accessible while advancing our shared commitment to digital financial inclusion across the country.”

Faster Loan Disbursements and Business Payouts

The partnership goes beyond payment acceptance. Skyro will also use Coins.ph’s payout infrastructure to support cash distributions, credit payouts, loan disbursements, and merchant settlements.

To consumers who use Skyro’s financial products, faster disbursement infrastructure can make receiving approved funds more convenient. Instead of relying on slower or more complicated processes, digital payout systems can help move funds more efficiently.

The same infrastructure can provide advantages for businesses within Skyro’s network. Partner merchants will be able to process bulk payouts and settlements through digital channels, helping improve operational efficiency.

The development is particularly relevant as fintech services continue to expand beyond major cities. Digital financial products need reliable payment and payout infrastructure to reach consumers in different regions.

Skyro President Anthony Co said the partnership supports the company’s goal of building a broader digital financial ecosystem.

“This agreement accelerates our roadmap to build a fully integrated digital financial ecosystem,” said Co. He added, “As fintech adoption expands beyond major metro areas into regional provinces, integrating robust QR Ph acceptance and payout rails ensures our digital financial products remain available everywhere.”

His statement reflects the growing importance of bringing digital financial services to consumers outside the country’s major urban centers. Wider access to digital payments and financial services can help more Filipinos participate in the country’s increasingly digital economy.

A Partnership Aligned with the Philippines’ Cashless Growth

The Coins.ph and Skyro partnership comes as digital payments continue to gain momentum across the Philippines.

Digital payment transactions in the country reached nearly ₱25 trillion in 2025, according to figures cited in the partnership announcement. At the same time, electronic fund transfer volumes through clearing systems such as InstaPay and PESONet increased substantially, with transaction volume recording a 216 percent surge.

These figures demonstrate how quickly digital transactions are becoming part of everyday financial activity.

Consumers are increasingly using electronic channels to pay for goods, transfer money, and access financial services, while businesses are looking for payment infrastructure that can handle transactions efficiently.

The growth also pins the spotlight on the importance of interoperability. As more Filipinos use different digital wallets and banking applications, payment systems need to work together rather than operate in isolated networks.

QR Ph is designed to support this type of interoperability by creating a common QR payment standard. Combined with digital payout infrastructure, it can help connect everyday payments with services such as lending, merchant settlements, and fund transfers.

Coins.ph and Skyro plan to roll out their integrated payment and disbursement capabilities across their digital platforms in the coming months.
